Farmer's Dilemma, and Money Issues of the Late 1800's

Please note that these assignments are due on Friday, February 2nd. We will not have class on February 1st due to an all school assembly honoring Black History Month.

1. Complete reading of sources and answering questions: “The Farmer’s Dilemma – To Produce or Not to Produce” and
2. “Farm Problems; North, South, and West” Amsco, pp 321-325 and 5 terms from this reading.
3. You should also skim Pageant pp. 605-624. Particularly note sections focused on farming and farm issues and keep in mind the context of the Gilded Age; what else is happening at this time?
4. Read the question and documents for DBQ 8: “The Farmer’s Movement; 1870-1900” Pageant, pp. A118-120.
a) create a tentative thesis statement
b) make a web or list of 12-15 related specific facts and terms
c) read and make notes about the documents
d) create a list of categories for the documents
e) review your thesis statement
