1. Economic Development project: Due today. Presentations Monday.
2. “The Philosophy of the Industrialists” Read all sources and thoughtfully answer all questions. This is a fascinating examination of the writing and images related to the “Captains of Industry” or “Robber Barons” (depending on your viewpoint). (30 points)
3. “The Farmer’s Dilemma: To Produce or Not to Produce” Read all sources and thoughtfully answer all questions. These sources reveal reasons for farmer’s problems in the late 1800’s and the reasons for their sometimes successful attempts to influence American politics.
Note: Both of these issues relate directly to the economic development of our nation in the late 1800’s. Two of you are working on projects related to these sources!
4. Extra credit: create a chart or diagram to illustrate industrial development 1876-1913.
